This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Transportation. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Transportation|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Transportation. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.

Consensus has been that notability is not automatic in WP:LISTED (or any other) case. Fails to meet WP:NCORP, WP:CORPDEPTH. Indian media sources should be viewed carefully, as they often present press releases as news WP:RSNOI. Apart from that, activities like establishing new manufacturing units, acquiring others' production units, expanding overseas business by appointing an expat etc., are merely routine coverage WP:ROUTINE, regardless of where they are published. - Operational flight plan (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Duplicative of flight plan (and flight planning). I initially redirected this to flight plan in November, but was reverted by the article's creator last month. This article is little more than a dictionary definition of the subject, and I see no evidence its continued existence is justified when it can easily be incorporated in either flight plan or flight planning. Collapsed wall of text added by Leksey. Trainsandotherthings (talk)

Leksey (talk) 03:51, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Backing up your argument with a wall of gibberish is not the route to take. Demonstrate with cited sources from which an article can be written, what the subject is. Where's a book that explains this, and where in the book is the explanation, for example? Uncle G (talk) 04:14, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- I've collapsed your giant wall of text. Please do NOT add any more examples. That phone number may need to be oversighted as well. Trainsandotherthings (talk) 20:51, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Not sure about OS, but I've removed the possible PII and RD'd it. ♠PMC♠ (talk) 17:47, 15 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete as more or less duplicative of other articles. The Generic Content section is essentially a CLOP of [1] (linked above); the lead doesn't even say what the subject is, just some vague indications about what one could do. The two links given by Leksey essentially confirm that this is the same thing as a flight plan. The article as it stands is worse than a dictionary definition and I don't see anything worth merging – in fact, I am concerned that this might have to be deleted for copyright reasons. - 1982 Sukhumi Dranda Airport runway collision (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
Article has only primary (database) sourcing, and I could not find any significant coverage from a basic BEFORE search. The article has been tagged for reliance on a single source and not meeting GNG since August of last year, and no real improvements have been forthcoming. - Merge with Sukhumi Babushara Airport. I searched Russian sources, but no one mentions it even the history page on the official airport website. Sadly, doesn't know a good Russian database to make a perfectly throurough research. LastJabberwocky (talk) 06:44, 11 April 2025 (UTC)
- Merge into Sukhumi Babushara Airport as an alternative to deletion per WP:GNG and WP:EVENTCRIT – Other than databases, there exists no reliable secondary sources that provide significant or in-depth coverage of the event nor are there any demonstrated lasting effects nor long-term impacts on a significant region of the world that would make this event notable enough for a stand-alone article. This was the best I managed to find but isn't significant coverage of the collision:
Aviationwikiflight (talk) 16:02, 11 April 2025 (UTC)Спустя три года, 14 августа 1982 года, в Сухумском аэропорту самолет Jet L-410 столкнулся на взлетно-посадочной полосе с Ту-134А. В авиаинциденте погибли все, кто находился в «Турболете» - 9 пассажиров и два члена экипажа.

- (Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL)
The yacht lacks any notoriety whatsoever except for the fact that it was once owned by a wealthy individual and 25 years ago it held a record. skarz (talk) 01:40, 9 April 2025 (UTC)
- Delete I agree this yacht does not seem notable beyond any typical yacht of the ultra-wealthy. A single article in the NYT is not enough. Other reliable sources I have been able to find are passing mentions of the yacht's sale or a reference/basic description in articles about rich people/rich silicon valley ppl yachts.

- Merge and redirect to the owner, James H. Clark, where a small section about his yachts can be constructed, especially since Hyperion was, per the article, the largest sloop ever built at the time. If not worthy of a standalone article, m+r makes sense. - The Bushranger One ping only 01:38, 10 April 2025 (UTC)

- Per the General Notability Guideline a topic is indeed presumed notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. However the GNG clarifies that "significant coverage" means sources that address the subject directly and in detail, going beyond mere mentions. This implies that trivial mentions — brief references without substantial information — do not contribute to establishing a topic's notability. skarz (talk) 02:18, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- All eight sources I posted discuss the subject directly in detail and are not trivial mentions.----Pontificalibus 05:28, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
- Even if there is significant coverage WP:N itself states that this “creates only a presumption of an article.” WP:NNC repeats the point: “Notability alone does not guarantee a stand‑alone page.” WP:NOTACATALOG also addresses the fact that not every item in the universe needs to have its own article. The WP:NVEHICLES essay says: “Individual vehicles, other than large ships, will very seldom be notable.” WikiProject‑Ships discussions often merge routine pleasure craft into broader articles about their builder or class instead of giving each a page. skarz (talk) 21:41, 17 April 2025 (UTC)
